THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE
The first thing you notice about Buffy is that she's tiny. Literally, she's pocket size. But don't let that fool you. She's short, but packs a punch and behind the sunny smile and the Valley Girl appearance, she's one hell of a spitfire.

Buffy is a natural leader; she's self-assured and strong-willed, very independent and a woman who doesn't have much taste for authority, who does what she thinks is the best thing, and right thing, to do. Sometimes, that might involve a little rule bending, and she's okay with that. She's a rebel, even in terms of being a Slayer - she likes to do things her own way, even if her Watcher or the Council have demanded otherwise, and time and again, this plays to Buffy's strength. Her unwillingness to be another solider is, in truth, her greatest asset and the reason for her success. Sometimes her natural ability to lead can go to her head, and she'll get a little too headstrong and arrogant about things, not on purpose most of the time, but she does feel like she's at the forefront of everything and her methods might not be the best, but to her they are right.
Buffy also has a huge heart. She can get attached to people far too quickly, and she definitely puts her all into her friendships. But these friendships are what set her apart from other Slayers, what give her the edge on the forces of darkness and speak to the longevity of her career as the Slayer. She's a very protective person and will stop at nothing to keep those she loves safe, this constantly gives her something to fight for, something to live for, which is something her predecessors lacked in many ways. She considers her emotions to be assets, and knows that, despite what she's learned from the First Slayer and what she's been told of Slayers in the past, they give her power.
She can be extremely strong in her opinions, and isn't afraid to step up and assert her authority when she feels it's necessary. Buffy also possesses the uncanny ability to whip out witty comments at the most appropriate (and, alright, sometimes inappropriate) times, always offering a crack - especially when dealing with her enemies, she is known to use her wit as a shield, often buying herself some time to regroup and reassess her battle plan. She comes off a little bit cynical and sarcastic at times, but usually just when she's in a bad mood. She's very emotional, despite the strong image she upholds. She's not quick to cry, but when the need hits her, she lets it out, rather than trying to stay Buffy the Slayer all the time, she knows that Buffy the girl just need some her time too.

abilities & skills
enhanced physical strength notably below god-tier but above most other preternaturally strong beings; she is not stronger than the turok-han, but she is close to matching them. she's shown lifting several hundred pounds casually while doing construction work, busting down steel doors, and breaking stone sarcophagi without breaking a sweat. the only clear time she's in over her head strength wise is when battling Glory, who is a god. she also has enhanced speed, demonstrated when she outruns a bus and when she runs faster than xander could possibly hope to when trying to catch up with dark willow flying to the magic box.
enhanced durability and stamina doesn't bruise easily, is very difficult to injure in any lasting capacity, and there's no real example of her wearing out. additionally, it's said she very rarely gets sick, the only clear times are with supernatural assistance, and she heals very rapidly, recovering from a serious stab wound in under a week and recovering from near-fatal blood loss within a day.
enhanced reflexes and heightened awareness what's more or less a spidey sense in battle, and an ability to sense demons and vampires for what they really are when they might not necessarily look like their demonic selves. her reflexes are far above normal humans', and she has a lot of intuition on top of it all.
natural fighting proficiency she's got natural fighting talent as well as a natural proficiency with all weapons she picks up, it's intuitive that she understands how to use them best, she is skilled with martial arts and street fighting without much traditional training, and she picks up a bow staff and beats giles down with it the moment she picks it up for the first time. she is proficient in the following weapons: axes, swords (two-handed and one-handed), daggers, knives, maces, compounds bows, crossbows, longbows, stakes and staves.
slayer dreams including abilities like dream-sharing with fellow slayers, as exemplified by her dream-sharing with comatose faith, precognitive dreaming that usually relates to the slayer line in some way such as the deaths of the potentials in season seven, or post-cognitive dreaming of old slayers' memories. relatedly, she has the knowledge and experience of every battle a slayer has ever fought.
mental resistance she resists dracula's thrall, which is essentially mind control. she's shown to be aware that he's controlling her and shown to fight it, after a burst of focus boosted by drinking his blood, she breaks it entirely and resists his next attempts to entrance her.
Mr Pointy; Kendra's favourite stake, given to Buffy before Kendra died. Buffy keeps it at all times and is her preferred stake of choice. mʔ - the Slayer Scythe; a mystical scythe, it embodies the mystical essence of the Slayer. Someone without the Slayer calling can use it, but not as effectively as a Slayer. Buffy feels an innate ownership, like the Scythe was meant for her, and thus she is able to use it fluidly like it's a part of her. Cross Pendant; given to her by Angel when she was 16, Buffy rarely takes it off.
